The Antonov An-28 (NATO designation: Cash) is a modern Russian high-wing transport and liaison aircraft. The drive is provided by two turboprop engines Gluszenko TVD-10B with a power of 960 KM each. The prototype flight took place in 1969. Serial production lasted from 1983 to 1992, and about 190 aircraft of this type were built. The An-28 was created as a far-reaching modification of another Antonov aircraft - An-14. Compared to its predecessor, An-28 differs in an elongated fuselage, a different shape of the rear tail with a larger surface. Originally, it was planned to use an in-flight retractable landing gear in the An-28, but in the end the fixed landing gear was left. Interestingly, the production of this aircraft was not undertaken in the Soviet Union, but it was decided to transfer the license production to Poland (in 1978) - to the PZL-Mielec aviation plant to be exact. Based on the An-28, the PZL M-28 aircraft was also developed. The original version of An-28 was or is used by the armed forces of Poland, the Russian Federation, Peru and Vietnam, among others.
