72009NA FAB-9000 M54 (SOVIET HIGH-EXPLOSIVE BOMB)

The FAB-9000 M-54 is a Soviet Cold War free-fall aerial bombardment. Its length is 500 cm, diameter is 120 cm, and its span is slightly more than 150 cm. In turn, the total mass oscillated around 9,400 kg, while the mass of the explosive is nearly 4,300 kg. The FAB-9000 M-54 bomb at the time of its introduction into service was the heaviest conventional bomb in the Soviet military aviation. Of course, it was constructed in order to destroy particularly strongly fortified enemy resistance points, as well as to destroy important surface targets. One of its carriers was the Tupolev Tu-22 plane. The bomb was used in combat during the Iraqi-Iranian war of 1980-1988.
