The Arado Ar 66 was a German fixed-landing biplane training and training aircraft with a mixed design from the interwar period and World War II. The drive - in the Ar 66 C version - was provided by a single engine Argus As10C with a power of 240 hp. The flight of the prototype took place in 1932, and in 1933 serial production began, which led to the creation of about 1,350 examples of this aircraft. The Ar 66 aircraft was developed at the Arado Flugzeugwerke plant on the basis of the Ar 65 fighter designed at that time by the same manufacturer. The Ar 66 aircraft turned out to be quite successful and quickly entered mass production. In its course, two main development versions were created: Ar 66 B (seaplane with a fixed float landing gear) and Ar 66 C (training and training version with a fixed wheel undercarriage). The plane quickly reached civilian and military aviation schools. From 1943, Ar 66 planes were used as night bombers in operations on the Eastern Front, especially in today's Latvia and Finland.
