ARADO AR 396

The Arado Ar 396 was a German training and training aircraft, with a metal low wing structure from the Second World War. The drive was provided by a single engine Argus As 411MA with a power of 580 hp. The prototype flight took place in 1944. Some of them had on-board armament consisting of a single 7.92 mm MG17 machine gun. The machine could also carry a load of bombs weighing up to 50 kilograms. The Arado Ar 396 was a far-reaching development of the Ar 96 aircraft design. First of all, it used a more powerful propulsion unit, and in its construction a lot of emphasis was placed on the lowest possible use of scarce strategic raw materials - especially duralumin. As a result, the plane was very much made of wood and canvas. Two main development versions of the Ar 396 were created: A-1 intended for advanced and shooting training, as well as A-2 intended for training pilots in night and non-visibility flights, with more navigation instruments. Until the end of the war on May 1, 1945, only a dozen or so machines were produced, but later their production continued in France.
