The Opel Aero (another name: Opel Blitz Aero) is a German high-floor city and touring bus that was first presented to the public in 1939. Its serial production started in the same year and continued until 1944. The Opel Aero was created by Adam Opel AG on the basis of the Opel Blitz 3-ton truck. It took over from it, first of all, the chassis frame, gearbox, engine and many suspension elements. On the other hand, a completely new body was designed in a rounded style, with only two doors to the passenger compartment. It is worth adding that the Ludewig design office was responsible for the styling of the new bus. The bus could take up to 29 passengers. During World War II, many Opel Aero buses were commandeered by the German armed forces and served as staff units, sanitary vehicles or propaganda vehicles. It was also often used to transport soldiers.
