The UFAG CI was an Austro-Hungarian solid-landing biplane reconnaissance aircraft from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single engine Hiero with a power of 230 hp. The flight of the prototype took place in 1917, and serial production began in 1918. By the end of the war, 244 aircraft of this type had been delivered to the front lines. The deck armament consisted of two 7.92 mm machine guns. The UFAG CI was developed at the Ungarische Flugzeugfabrik plant based on the German Hansa-Brandenburg CI aircraft. The new machine, however, was characterized by a simplified structure conducive to faster production, but also a reinforced fuselage, a slight change in the wing structure and a completely new power unit (compared to the original Hansa CI) . Serial UFAG CI airplanes were recognized as one of the best in class in Austro-Hungarian aviation. They were characterized by good maximum speed, great maneuverability equal to the fighters of that time, durable construction and relatively easy piloting. The machine entered service in early 1918. After the end of World War I, small numbers of UFAG CI machines were used by the Hungarian and Romanian aviation.
