Voisin III is a French bomber in a mixed biplane design with a fixed undercarriage from the First World War. The flight of the prototype took place in 1914, and shortly after that, mass production began, which led to the creation of over 800 aircraft of this type. The machine was powered by a single Salmson M.9 radial engine with 130 HP. The deck armament consisted of a single machine gun - most often a 7.7 mm Lewis. The plane could also carry bombs weighing up to 91 kilograms. Voisin III was developed as a development and modernization of Voisin I airplanes. The main design change was to replace the Le Rhone engine with a unit with a higher maximum power, which necessitated a slight reinforcement of the whole structure. Voisin III was a machine with a push propeller, not a pull propeller. It was not characterized by fantastic performance, but it was very stable in flight, reliable and easy to pilot, which made it quite popular among Entente airmen. Among the users of this plane - apart from France - there were also Russia, Great Britain and Italy.
