KPK7236 CURTISS WRIGHT CW-19R BOLIVIAN AND DOMINICAN SERVICE

The Curtiss-Wright CW-19 was an American multi-role low-wing aircraft with a fixed landing gear in the classic layout. The flight of the prototype took place in 1935, and about 30 machines of this type were created during the short series production. The aircraft, in the CW-19R version, was 8.03 meters long with a wingspan of 10.67 meters. The drive was provided by a single Wright R-760 Whirlwind engine with a power of up to 350 HP. The maximum speed did not exceed 300 km / h, with a climb speed of 9.6 m / s. The plane could be armed with four 7.62 mm machine guns. Curtiss-Wright CW-19 was created as a grassroots initiative of the Curtiss Airplane and Motor Company, and the goal was to create a relatively simple machine, which would be of interest to export contractors - both military and civilian. However, the model did not win the expected interest and contracts, and serial production was very little. The main recipient of the machine turned out to be the Chinese Air Force. Interestingly, however, the CW-19 was used to develop more successful designs, such as the CW-21 and especially the CW-22.
