The Hawker Audax was a British light reconnaissance and military cooperation aircraft in a mixed biplane design with a fixed landing gear from the interwar period and World War II. The drive was provided by a single engine Rolls-Royce Kestrel IB or Kestrel II with 525 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in 1931. They were armed with two 7.7 mm Vickers or Lewis machine guns. The Hawker Audax was based on the Hawker Hart plane, but it differed from it with a changed exhaust system, reinforced fuselage, no bomb hooks, and a hook for picking up packages with reports and orders from the ground. Hawker Audax entered the line in 1932 and was quickly directed primarily to units stationed in colonies, e.g. in Egypt, India or Malaya. From 1937, they were systematically rearmed with Hawker Hector and Westland Lysander planes. By the end of 1941, all aircraft of this type were withdrawn from service. Hawker Audax planes were also used by the air forces of several countries, including Canada, Iraq and Iran.
