Ключевые слова #GAL-41
The General Aircraft GAL-41 was a British low-wing military airliner from the interwar period and World War II. The flight of the prototype took place in 1939. The machine, however, never entered mass production. The drive was provided by two Pobjoy Niagara III motors. The length of the aircraft was 8.03 meters with a wingspan of 12.24 meters. The top speed did not exceed 180 km / h. The machine did not have a permanent on-board armament. Work on the GAL-41 aircraft began in connection with the British Air Force's desire to acquire a new, light passenger and liaison aircraft, the specification of which was determined in 1937. The General Aircraft Limited aviation company, applying for a government order, decided to use the already produced Monospar ST-25 as the basis for the development of a new machine. In the end, both machines were externally confusingly similar, but they differed primarily: drive units, smaller cabin glazing in the GAL-41 and the fact that the GAL-41 had a pressurized cabin for the crew and passengers, which at that time was a very rare solution encountered. Finally, General Aircraft GAL-41 did not enter mass production.
