The Raduga KSR-5 (NATO designation: AS-6 Kingfish) is a Soviet heavy missile from the Cold War period. In the basic version, the weight of the missile was 3,900 kg, and the mass of the warhead - 700 kg. The length of the projectile slightly exceeded 10.5 meters. The missile's range was up to 240 kilometers. The Raduga KSR-5 missile was developed as a smaller version of the Raduga Ch-22 missile and it was assumed from the beginning that its main carrier would be the Tupolev Tu-16 bomber. Three main variants of this missile were developed in the course of production. The first was the missile designated KSR-5, which entered service in the second half of the 1960s. It was a missile designed to fight enemy surface units with an active radar guidance system. In 1972, the KSR-5P missile with a passive guidance system, dedicated to destroying enemy radar stations, entered service. Finally, the last type of missile was the KSR-5N with a nuclear warhead. With time, an flying target based on the KSR-5 missile also appeared, designated as KSR-5NM.
