The Breda Ba.27 was a fighter plane of Italian production from the interwar period. The machine was built in a low-wing configuration with a fixed undercarriage in a classic configuration. The plane was 7.67 meters long with a wingspan of 10.8 meters. The drive was provided by a single Alfa Romeo Mercurius engine with 540 HP. The deck armament included two 12.7 mm BREDA-Safat machine guns. The Breda Ba.27 aircraft was originally designed for the Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) as a new light fighter. Originally, its wings and fuselage had a wooden structure, but the prototype built in this way aroused a definitely negative opinion of the potential recipient in 1933. A year later, another prototype (Ba.27M) was created at the Breda plant, which, however, was also rejected by Regia Aeronautica. However, China became interested in the machine and decided to purchase 18 aircraft of this type. Ultimately, 11 Ba.27M aircraft were delivered to China. Machines of this type were probably used in combat on a small scale only in the Japanese-Chinese war of 1937-1945.
