The Letov S-528 was a Czechoslovak reconnaissance plane and light bomber from the interwar period and World War II. The machine was constructed in a biplane layout and had a fixed undercarriage in a classic layout. The flight took place in 1935 or 1936. The drive was provided by a single Gnome-Rhone 14 Ksd engine with a power of up to 800 HP. The length of the aircraft was 10 meters with a wingspan of 13.1 meters. The maximum speed of the aircraft was 320 km / h. The S-528 model was created as a development of another very successful Letov aircraft - the S-328 model and its successor. The latter was the most widely used combat machine in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. It was established as the so-called a universal aircraft, capable of performing short and long range reconnaissance tasks, a liaison and a light bomber. The same philosophy was continued by the S-528, but it differed from its predecessor mainly by using a different power unit and by strengthening the structure. However, work on the machine was discontinued in 1939 when Czechoslovakia was occupied by the Third Reich, and so far only 6 Letov S-528 aircraft had been built. After 1939, planes of this type were taken over by the German Luftwaffe.
