The Glob Astir CS-77 was a West German Standard class glider, the flight of the prototype took place in 1977, series production started shortly after. In total, 536 examples of this aircraft were built. The wingspan of the glider - in the CS-77 version - was 15 meters. The weight of the empty sailplane was 285 kg, and the maximum take-off weight was up to 450 kg. The Astir CS-77 glider was developed and produced by the company Grob Aerospace AG. It was developed as the most universal glider, intended for use both for training, recreational and sports flights. The glider was characterized by a high-wing configuration and the use of a T-shaped tail. It is worth adding that the structure of the glider was fully composite. It should also be added that there were several versions of it, among the two main ones: Astir CS-77 and Astir CS-77 Jeans. The first one had a retractable landing gear, while the second - a fixed landing gear. Astir CS-77 gliders were used by Polish glider pilots and in Polish flying clubs.
