The Beriew Be-10 was a Soviet all-metal high-wing flying boat. The propulsion was provided by two jet engines Ljuka AL-7 PB . The flight of the prototype took place in 1956, and serial production continued in the period 1956-1961, ending with the production of about 30 machines of this type. The aircraft was armed with 4 23mm NS-23 cannons and a load of up to 3,300 kg of bombs or torpedoes. The Beriew Be-10 was created in response to the demand reported by the Soviet Navy for a completely new flying boat capable of patrolling in open sea and ocean waters and adapted to the activities of ZOP (anti-submarine warfare). The first copies of it had problems with seafaring, but with time this defect was removed. The only unit using aircraft of this type was the 977th Independent Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance Regiment stationed in the Crimea. During the service, the Be-10 turned out to be difficult to pilot, operate and service. Moreover, many of its structural elements corroded quickly. From 1968, it was replaced in line by Be-12 machines.
