Avia BH-22 is a Czechoslovakian training aircraft from the interwar period. A prototype flight took place in 1925, and serial production started shortly after. About 30 machines of this type were built in its course. The plane was built in a biplane with a solid landing gear in the classic configuration. The length of the aircraft was 6.87 meters with a span of 8.9 meters. The drive was provided by a single Hispano-Suiza 8a engine, licensed by Skoda, with a capacity of 180 HP. The design of the Avia BH-22 was to a large extent based on a fighter plane from the same manufacturer bearing the BH-21 designation. Compared to its predecessor, the BH-22 had an engine with a lower maximum power and did not have any on-board weapons. However, the general structure remained unchanged. The machine turned out to be successful and it served in the Czechoslovak Air Force for a relatively long time. Later, some of its copies went to civilian flying clubs.
