SAI KZ II was a Danish sports and training plane that was flown in 1937, and in the course of serial production, which started in the same year, about 45 machines of this type were created. The aircraft, in the training version, was 7.6 meters long with a wingspan of 10.2 meters. The drive was provided by a single de Havilland Gipsy Major engine with a maximum power of 145 HP. The maximum speed was 235 km / h, with the maximum range of 805 kilometers. The KZ II model was developed at an aviation plant Skandinavisk Aero Industri A / S, as a very light communication plane with a fuselage of metal structure, but covered with canvas and plywood, and with wooden wings with linen cover. Interestingly, the plane was relatively easy to disassemble and thus facilitated its transport by road. A total of three versions of this aircraft were produced in the course of production. The first, called Coupe, was a basic version with a Gipsy Minor or Cirrus Minor engine. The second was called Sport and was adapted to aerobatics, and the propulsion was provided by the Hirth 504A engine. Finally, the last and third, called Traener, was a military school-training version with the Gipsy Major engine. Interestingly, the latter version was used by the Danish Air Force until 1955!
