The Caproni Ca.100 was an Italian training and training aircraft in a mixed biplane structure with a fixed landing gear. The drive was most often provided by a single motor De Havilland Gipsy with a power of 85 HP. The prototype flight took place in 1928. Serial production started in the same year, ending with the production of about 700 machines of this type. The plane did not have permanent weapons. The Caproni Ca.100 was created in response to the demand for a new initial training aircraft reported by the Italian military aviation (owned by Regia Aeronautica). Caproni, in order to shorten the time of analytical and implementation work as much as possible, decided to follow the example of the successful design of another training aircraft - de Havilland DH.60. The same engine was also used to drive the initial production versions, only later replaced by aviation engines of domestic manufacturers, including: Isotta-Fraschini or FIAT. In the course of serial production, a version with floats was also created, designated as Ca.100 Idro. Ca.100 planes have been exported to Portugal. The license was sold to Bulgaria and Peru.
