The CAC CA-15 Kangaroo was an Australian prototype WWII and post-war fighter in a low wing configuration. The drive was provided by a single engine Rolls-Royce Griffon with a power of 2035 hp. The machine was first flew in 1946, but never entered mass production. The deck armament was to consist of six 12.7 mm machine guns. The machine could take a load of 450 kg bombs and it was planned to install 10 launchers for unguided missiles. Works on The CAC CA-15 Kangaroo began in 1943, and their goal was to develop a modern fighter machine that would surpass Japanese planes and have performance similar to the latest British and American designs. The designers of the new machine in the general concept of the aircraft relied in some way on the P-51 Mustang, but did not copy it simply, and tried to improve the design. However, the work on the CAC CA-15 was significantly extended and the flight of the prototype took place only in 1946, i.e. after the end of World War II, when it became clear that the future of fighter aviation would belong to jet aircraft. This meant that the CAC CA-15 never entered mass production.
