VL VIIMA VARIANT2

The VL Viima was a Finnish training and training aircraft built in the biplane with a fixed landing gear in the classic layout. The flight of the prototype took place in 1936, and serial production started shortly after, which resulted in the creation of 24 examples of this aircraft. The plane was 7.13 meters long with a wingspan of 9.2 meters. The drive was provided by a single Siemens-Halske Sh-14A engine with a capacity of 150 HP. The plane did not have permanent on-board weapons. The VL Viima aircraft was developed by order of the Finnish Air Force, and the order for its development was placed in 1935. As it was expected to develop a highly classical machine, even conservative in its design, the work proceeded very quickly and in 1936 the first prototype was tested. The machine turned out to be successful and remained in line until the early 1960s. After decommissioning, several machines were sold to civilian users. In total, two main variants of the aircraft were created. The first is Viima I, the designation of the first two prototypes. The second variant is Viima II, the production version
