72021 L.W. BROWN B-2 RACER MISS LOS ANGELES

The Brown B-2 Racer was an American sports and racing aircraft from the interwar period. The machine was designed in the low wing configuration, with the fixed undercarriage in the classic configuration. The plane was flown in 1934. Only one copy of it was made. The drive was provided by a single Menasco B-6 engine with 160 HP. The machine was 6.04 m long with a wingspan of 5.87 m. The B-2 Racer aircraft was developed by the Brown Aircraft Company as an evolutionary development of the B-1 Racer. Compared to its predecessor, the aircraft was powered by an engine with almost twice the maximum power, it was also longer and had a larger wingspan. Relatively quickly she gained the nickname "Miss Los Angeles". The machine turned out to be a successful racing plane with successes in air racing in the state and at the national level. The plane was lost in a crash in 1939.
