Nieuport 10 was a French reconnaissance and fighter plane with a wooden structure, covered with canvas in a biplane arrangement. The drive was provided by a single 80 HP Le-Rhone 9C rotary engine. The prototype flight took place in 1914, and serial production started in the same year. The Nieuport 10 was built under the leadership of French aviation constructor Gustave Delage and was the first in a series of highly successful aircraft that fought in World War I. Originally, the Nieuport 10 was designed as a racing plane with a biplane layout, with the lower wing being shorter than the upper one. However, the outbreak of war in August 1914 brought the machine to the front. It performed primarily reconnaissance and reconnaissance functions. However, many of them were quickly converted into hunting machines by covering the observer's position and adding a machine gun to the upper panel. In 1915, airplanes of this type began to be replaced at the front with Niuport 11 and used as training planes.
