DA-42 DOMINATOR

Diamond DA42 Twin Star is a modern multi-role and training aircraft of Austrian production. The flight of the prototype took place in 2002, and the machine entered production in 2004 - so far over 600 aircraft of this type have been produced. The overall length of this aircraft is 8.56 meters with a wingspan of 13.42 meters. The drive is provided by two engines with a power of 168 HP each. The top speed is up to 356 km / h. The DA42 Twin Star aircraft is manufactured by the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries based in the city of Wiener Neustadt, near Vienna. Development works on the machine started in the 90s of the twentieth century and were aimed at creating the first two-engine machine in the company's history, which was also to be characterized by a relatively simple structure and ease of use, but also to be as economical as possible in operation and have good properties aerodynamic. Finally, an aircraft was created that meets the above assumptions, which has gained considerable popularity on world markets and is the main export product of its manufacturer. It is worth noting that based on the basic civil version of the DA42 Twin Star, an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) was developed in 2009 at the Diamond factory, which is able to stay in the air for 28 hours and fly at an altitude of approx. 9150 meters.
