The Fokker F27 Friendship is a Dutch short- and medium-range passenger and transport aircraft from the post-war period in the high-wing configuration. The drive - in the basic version - is provided by two Rolls-Royce Dart Mk.532 turboprop engines with a capacity of 2,250 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in November 1955, and serial production continued in the years 1955-1987. As a result, about 590 aircraft of this type were created. The Fokker F27 Friendship was developed in the early 1950s as a successor to the DC-3 type of transport and passenger aircraft from World War II. When creating the Fokker F27, it was quickly decided to use turboprop engines and to provide passengers with the highest possible comfort of flight. Finally, a very successful machine was created, which achieved considerable commercial success and became the most widely produced civilian aircraft in the Netherlands after 1945! In the course of long serial production, several development versions were created, including: F27-100 (first production version), F27-300 (transport-passenger plane) F27-300M (version adapted to the needs of the Dutch Navy) or F27-500 ( extended hull version). Fokker F27 Friendship aircraft have been used by several countries, including: the Netherlands, Argentina, Australia, Canada and Hungary.
