01445 ILYUSHIN IL-12 CZECH VERSION

Ilyushin Il-12 (NATO code: Coach) was a Soviet, low-wing, twin-engine passenger and transport plane from the Cold War period. The drive was provided by two motors Szwecow ASz-82 FN, 1850 HP each. The flight of the prototype took place in 1945, and serial production continued in the years 1946-1950. In total, about 660 copies of this aircraft were built. Ilyushin Il-12 was developed to replace Li-2 aircraft in both military and civil aviation. Despite the fact that the machine entered serial production, it was underdeveloped and was characterized by high operating costs, a relatively small passenger cabin and emergency engines. In general, the plane was not very liked by its crews. In the course of serial production, three main development versions were created: Ił-12B (version with an enlarged passenger cabin), Ił-12T (a transport version capable of rising into the air with a load of 3.5 tons) and Ił-12D (version adapted to transport of paratroopers). Il-12 planes were used by countries such as Czechoslovakia, the PRC, Poland and the USSR.
