The Savoia-Marchetti S.65 was an Italian sports and racing seaplane from the interwar period with a fixed, float undercarriage. The machine was built in a low wing configuration. The only copy of this plane was built and flown in 1929. The drive was provided by two 1000hp Isotta Fraschini Asso 750 engines. The maximum speed was estimated at 640 km / h, which at that time was a very good value. The Savoia-Marchetti S.65 was built specifically for the 1929 Schneider Trophy. The machine was characterized by very good aerodynamic properties, as well as the use of two engines and two propellers - one for pulling and one for pushing, which was rare in this class of aircraft. Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, the Savoia-Marchetti S.65 did not start in the race, and in 1930 the machine crashed during training.
