Bréguet 761 (other designation: Bréguet Br. 761) was a French passenger and transport plane that was flown in February 1949. The drive, in the first tested prototype, was provided by 4 SNECMA 14R-24 engines with 1590 HP each. Design work on an aircraft that was finally marked Bréguet 761 took off during the Second World War, in 1944 to be exact. It was planned to create a medium-range passenger plane, equipped with proven and easily available engines, which could be put into service as soon as possible. What is very important - it was assumed from the beginning that it would be a double-deck machine. The first aircraft, under the designation Bréguet 761, was flown in 1949 and not long later this copy was purchased by Air France. With time, it was sold to Air Algerie, and in 1953 he served with Silver City Airways. A second version, called Bréguet 761S, was also quickly created, with Pratt and Whitney R-2800-B31 radial engines with 2,100 hp each. Machines in this version also received new propellers. The first flight of this version took place in 1951. In total, three Bréguet 761Ss were built, which were originally purchased by the Armée de l'Air, the French Air Force.
