01440 SOVIET ANTONOV AN-3

The Antonov An-3 is a modern, single-engine multi-role and agricultural aircraft of Soviet production (Russian and Ukrainian). The drive is provided by a single TVD-20-03 engine with a capacity of 1350 HP. The prototype flight took place in 1990. Serial production started in the same year and is still going on. It is estimated that approx. 25-30 aircraft of this type have been produced to date. The cost of a single machine is approx. 1.5 million. dollars. Antonov An-3 was created as a result of the modernization of the legendary design of the Soviet aviation - the An-2 aircraft. The main changes were to use a much more powerful turboprop engine, improve the aerodynamic properties of the structure, redesign the fuselage and wings, and use richer avionics. The development of the new machine, due to the economic and political problems caused by the collapses of the USSR, was very slow and it has been offered on the civilian market only since around 2000. The aircraft is offered in two basic versions: An-3Skh (agricultural aircraft) and An-3T (civil passenger and transport aircraft). The An-3T-10 version, which is currently used by Russian airborne troops, also appeared.
