Ключевые слова #WZ-X
The CWL WZ-X was a Polish prototype reconnaissance plane with a wooden structure, in a biplane configuration. The drive was provided by a single engine Lorraine-Dietrich 12Eb with 478 hp. The flight of the prototype took place in 1926, and in the years 1926-1927 only 4 copies of this aircraft were produced. The aircraft was armed with 4 machine guns (Lewis or Vickers) cal. 7.7 mm. CWL WZ-X was created in response to the demand of the Polish Air Force for a new reconnaissance aircraft with the strongest possible armament. The Central Aviation Workshop (CWL) was responsible for the construction of the new machine. After short tests and trials, in 1927 the so-called information series. It showed that the CWL WZ-X has good performance, at least equal to the French Breguet 19 or Potez XXV aircraft, it also has good handling properties and good maneuverability. However, despite this, Polish decision-makers decided to purchase ready-made machines of the above-mentioned French types, as well as to purchase the licensed production of Potez XXV aircraft. As a result, despite its advantages, the CWL WZ-X never entered mass production, and the produced units were sent to the flight school in Dęblin.
