Aviatik-Berg D.II was an Austro-Hungarian prototype fixed-landing gear biplane fighter from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single engine Austro-Daimler with a power of 200 HP. The prototype's flight took place in 1917 - the machine never entered mass production. The deck armament consisted of two 8 mm Schwarzlose machine guns. Aviatik-Berg D.II was created as a development of a very successful machine: Aviatik-Berg DI When designing the new machine, the goal was to achieve the highest maximum speed, which they wanted to achieve by improving the aerodynamics of the aircraft, changing the wingspan, modernizing the lower wing and making it self-supporting . All these changes, however, caused considerable design problems. The plane did not go to field tests until November 1917, where the pilots flying it praised the great top speed, but also complained about the terrible maneuverability of the machine, poor visibility from the cabin and considerable vibrations of the lower wing. These disadvantages, as well as the decision of the authorities to produce Fokker D.VII aircraft by Aviatik, resulted in the cancellation of the entire project. Probably about 8-10 Aviatik-Berg D.II prototype aircraft were built.
