The Nieuport 81D2 was a French training and training aircraft from the First World War. The machine was built in a semi-wing configuration with a fixed landing gear in a classic configuration. Serial production of this machine started in 1917. The plane was 7.1 meters long with a wingspan of 9.1 meters. The drive was provided by a single 80 HP Le Rhone 9C rotary engine. The plane did not have permanent on-board weapons. The Nieuport 81D2 aircraft was developed on the basis of the Nieuport 12 fighter aircraft and the Nieuport 12A2 reconnaissance machine similar to it. In total, three types of training planes based on Nieuport 12 machines were created, intended for different stages of training. Nieuport 81D2 was intended for basic training and therefore had a two-seater cabin for the instructor and the future pilot. It is worth adding that in the period 1919-1921, about 20 examples of this machine were imported to Poland, which were used until the mid-1920s.
