The Zeppelin Lindau CS.1 was a German WW1 metal construction prototype low wing aircraft. The prototype flight took place in March 1918. However, the machine never entered mass production - probably only 3 were made. The drive was provided by a single Benz Bz.III engine with a capacity of 195 HP. The maximum speed was up to 150 km / h. The machine was armed with three 7.92 mm machine guns. The Zeppelin Lindau CS.1 was designed by the later acclaimed aircraft constructor Claude Dornier as a new fixed-float seaplane for the German Navy. A novelty was the use of an all-metal structure in the plane, covered with canvas mainly on the wings. Also, the use of only one flap was not the norm at the time. The machine also had a two-person cabin. Despite the fact that the first flight tests of the machine turned out to be rather promising, it was not possible to put it into mass production due to the economic and resource problems in which Imperial Germany found itself in 1918.
