The Fokker F28 Fellowship was a Dutch low wing airliner that was first flown in May 1967 and entered service in 1969. The length of the machine in the F28-1000 version was 27.4 m, with a wingspan of 23.6 m and a maximum take-off weight of approx. 29,480 kg. The drive was provided by two Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines with a thrust of 43.9 kN each. The cruising speed for the F28-1000 version is 848 km / h, with a range of 1700 kilometers. 241 machines of this type were created in the course of serial production. The Fokker F28 Fellowship was developed as an evolutionary development of the very successful Fokker F27, and it was decided to use jet engines instead of turboprops. In the course of the design work, Fokker also conducted careful surveys among their customers regarding their demand for an aircraft of this class. Finally, a successful machine was created that found many foreign customers. In the course of production, many versions of this jet were also created, among which the following can be indicated: F28-1000 (version capable of carrying 65 passengers), F28-2000 (version with a longer body, capable of carrying 79 passengers) or F28-4000 (version with an enlarged wingspan, capable of taking up to 85 passengers and equipped with Rolls-Royce Spey Mk.555-15H engines.
