The Ishikawajima R-3 is a Japanese training and training aircraft from the interwar period and World War II in a biplane configuration. The prototype flight took place in 1930 or 1931. The drive was provided by a single ADC Cirrus III or Cirrus-Hermes II engine. The R-3 aircraft was developed at the Ishikawajima Hikoki Seisakusho aviation plant as a new training machine. It puts a lot of emphasis on flight safety, flight properties, but also the lowest possible production costs. Already during the first flights, the plane turned out to be highly successful, and its maneuverability made it possible to perform most of the aerobatics figures with ease! The machine also had a relatively short take-off and landing distance. It is also worth adding that the plating of the plane was made of duralumin sheet, which improved aerodynamic properties and reduced air resistance.
