FIAT G.56 is an Italian single-seat, single-engine fighter from the end of World War II. FIAT G.56 was actually a far-reaching modification of the G.55, first of all the engine was replaced with the German Daimler-Benz DB603A with 1750KM, which resulted in the extension of the hull. The wing structure has also changed. Design work began in 1943, and the first prototype was flown on March 28, 1944. A month later, the works were interrupted as a result of the Allied bombing of FIAT plants. In total, only two prototypes with the designations ??. 536 and ??. 537 were built. The G.56 never entered mass production.
