Ключевые слова #AVIATIK-BERG #D-I
Aviatik-Berg DI was an Austro-Hungarian fighter plane in the biplane layout with a fixed undercarriage from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single Austro-Daimler engine with 200 HP. The flight of the prototype took place in 1916 and in the same year mass production began, which led to the creation of about 700 copies of this aircraft. The deck armament consisted of two 8mm Schwarzlose M.07 / 12 machine guns. Aviatik-Berg DI was the first ever developed from scratch fighter aircraft of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Its designer was Julius von Berg, and the company responsible for its development was Osterreich Aviatik. After a relatively long - for the conditions of World War I - research and development time, the serial plane was quite a good structure with a good maximum speed, good climb, but also characterized by above-average failure rate. The last feature, however, resulted from the fact that many plants in Austria-Hungary undertook its production, which often had no experience in building aircraft and had problems with mastering the technology of its production. It is worth adding that serial Aviatik-Berg DI planes differed in construction details depending on the factory in which they were made. These differences were reflected in the designations of the aircraft to which the production batch number was often added (eg Aviatik-Berg DI series 38 or 138).
