BMW FLÜGERADAR V-2

The Flügeradar is the conventional name of a German WWII jet or rocket project. The machine has probably never been tested, and certainly never entered production - even a small series. It can be assumed that the diameter of this aircraft was about 6 m, with a height of about 2.2 meters. The drive, on the other hand, could be provided by a single BMW 003 jet engine. However, it should be emphasized that these are only approximate and hypothetical data. The aircraft called Flügeradar is in fact an airplane with a jet propulsion probably in the shape of a flying disc, somewhat reminiscent of the aerodynamic assumptions of American experimental planes Vought V-173 Flying Pancake or the later Vought XF5U Flying Flapjack. Contrary to them, however, it would have a jet (or rocket) propulsion with an engine nacelle under the fuselage. What's more, Flügeradar was supposed to use the phenomenon of autorotation. According to the assumptions of the German designers, the new plane was to be characterized by unprecedented maneuverability and high top speed. However, all these are only hypotheses, and some information about the aircraft known as the Flügeradar is rather uncertain.
