The Mitsubishi 3MT5 is a Japanese bomber from the interwar period in a biplane configuration. The prototype flight took place in 1932. In total, only about 11 machines of this type were built, along with prototypes. The drive was provided by two Mitsubishi A4 engines with 800 hp each. The length of the aircraft was 12.05 meters with a wingspan of 20.7 meters. The maximum speed was up to 235 km / h. The deck armament consisted of three 7.7 mm machine guns. The machine could also carry a load of bombs weighing up to 1,000 kilograms. Mitsubishi 3MT5 was developed for the Japanese Navy, which at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s sought to obtain a new, twin-engine, on-board bomber-torpedo plane. It was assumed that the new machine would be relatively large, but it would be able to operate from the decks of aircraft carriers. However, the machine, despite the improvements made, was not very successful. Its main disadvantages include very difficult piloting, flight instability, and most of all - huge problems with taking off and landing from the deck of an aircraft carrier. The latter meant that the Japanese Navy decided not to use large-scale production, and the Mitsubishi 3MT5 was used from land bases as a bomb machine, but it was quickly reclassified as a training and training machine.
