The Mitsubishi 1MF9 Taka-Type was a Japanese prototype fixed-undercarriage biplane fighter from the interwar period. The drive was provided by a single Mitsubishi Hi engine with a capacity of 600 HP. The prototype's flight took place in July 1927 - but the machine never entered mass production. The deck armament consisted of two 7.7 mm machine guns. The 1MF9 was created based on the technical specification issued by the Japanese Navy command to several aviation companies in 1926 for a new on-board fighter that would replace the Mitsubishi 1MF machines in the line. Mitsubishi decided to significantly modify the 1MF fighter and adapt it to the new requirements of the Navy. However, at the time of the comparative tests with the Nakajima 1MF9 aircraft, it turned out to be much less maneuverable and a bit more difficult to pilot. This determined his failure. Only two Mitsubishi 1MF9 aircraft were manufactured.
