ALBATROS JII

The Albatros J.II was a German-made attack aircraft from World War I and the interwar period, wooden, with a fixed landing gear, in a biplane configuration. The drive was provided by a single engine Benz Bz.IVa with 220 HP. The first flight of this machine took place in 1918. In the years 1918-1919 serial production took place, which led to the creation of about 20 aircraft of this type. The deck armament consisted of three Spandau LMG 08/15 machine guns and a 7.92 mm Parabellum machine gun. Albatros J.II was developed at the request of the German armed forces as a development of its predecessor - the Albatros JI machines.The main changes compared to the original concerned the change of the power unit to an engine with a higher maximum power and the addition of armor for the fuel tanks and the engine compartment, which was the main drawback of the Albatros JI Aircraft of this type entered the Western Front only in August 1918, and their participation in the fighting was very limited.
