The Yokosho E6Y Type 91 (another designation: Yokosho or Yokosuka Type 91) was a Japanese reconnaissance seaplane in the biplane arrangement with a fixed float landing gear from the interwar period. The drive was provided by a single engine Gasuden Jimpu with power up to 160 HP. Serial production was carried out in the years 1925-1927, ending with the production of about 10 copies of this aircraft. The E6Y was a very unusual seaplane, as it was adapted to homing and operating with Japanese submarines. Its original design was based on the German Heinkel U-1. However, in 1929, they developed an improved version (E6Y1), which was based on the British Parnall Peto. The first ships to receive this type of aircraft as equipment were the I-21 and I-51. Single copies of the Yokosho E6Y took part in the so-called the Shanghai Incident of 1932 and the Japanese-Chinese War of 1937-1945. Airplanes of this type were withdrawn from service by mid-1943.
