The LVG CV is a German multipurpose aircraft from World War I and the interwar period in a biplane layout with a fixed landing gear in a classic layout. The machine was first flew in 1916, and serial production started shortly after. The drive was provided by a single engine Benz Bz. IV with a power of 200 HP. The length of the aircraft was 8.07 meters with a wingspan of 13.6 meters. The maximum speed was up to 170 km / h. The deck armament mostly consisted of two 7.92 mm LMG 08/15 or Parabellum machine guns. The machine could also carry a load of bombs weighing up to 50 kilograms. The LVG CV plane was developed by an aviation manufacturer Luft-Verkehrs-Gesselschaft for use by the German Air Force. The machine was carefully designed and characterized by good aerodynamic properties, considerable maneuverability for this class of machines, and above all it had a relatively strong and damage-resistant structure. During World War I were used on a larger scale from 1917 until its end - mainly on the Western Front (but not only!) For photo recognition, cooperation with own artillery or supporting their own land forces. A relatively large number of these machines, as captured, were taken over by the Polish army in 1918 and later used, among others, in the Polish-Bolshevik war of 1919-1921.
