The Focke Wulf Fw-56 Stösser (German: Sparrowhawk) is a German, single-engine, training and fighter aircraft with a mixed structure in the high wing structure from the initial period of World War II. The aircraft was developed as a response from Focke Wulf to a training aircraft and fighter supporting air defense. It turned out to be such a successful design that it won the competition with the Arado Ar.76 and Heinkel He.74 planes. The Fw-56 entered mass production in 1935, and by 1940, more than 1,000 copies of this aircraft were made. The aircraft was mass-built in one version: the Fw-56A-1, which in practice was only a training aircraft. The plane was exported to Austria and Hungary. The drive was the 8-cylinder Argus As 10C engine with a capacity of 250 HP. Technical data: length: 7.6 m, wingspan: 10.5 m, height: 2.6 m, maximum speed: 278 km / h, climb speed: 8.42 m / s, maximum range: 385 km, ceiling maximum 6,200 m, armament: fixed - two 7.92mm MG17 machine guns.
