The Mitsubishi 1MF10 was a Japanese prototype low-wing, fixed-undercarriage fighter from the interwar period. The drive was provided by a single Mitsubishi A engine- 4 with 780 hp. The prototype's flight took place in March 1933 - the machine never entered mass production. The deck armament consisted of two 7.7 mm machine guns. The Mitsubishi 1MF10 was commissioned by the Japanese Navy Command, which wanted to replace the rapidly aging Nakajima A2N aircraft. However, the ordering party made a reservation that the new machine - unlike its predecessor - was to be a monoplane with the best possible performance, especially maximum speed. When starting the order, Mitsubishi decided to develop a new low-wing aircraft, with an all-metal structure and the same plating on the wings, almost from scratch. At that time, it was a very modern structure. However, the flight tests were disappointing - the machine did not achieve the intended performance and was characterized by rather difficult piloting. Ultimately, the Mitsubishi 1MF10 was not accepted by the Japanese Navy command, but the experience gained from its flight tests was used to create the successful Mitsubishi A5M fighter.
