The Nardi FN.316 was an Italian light training and training aircraft that made its maiden flight in 1941. About 50 machines of this type were built in the course of serial production. The aircraft, in the FN.316M version, was approx. 7 m long with a wingspan of approx. 8.5 m. The drive was provided by a single Isotta Fraschini Beta RC 10 engine with up to 270 HP. The maximum speed was around 330 km / h, with a flight range of 740 kilometers. The deck armament consisted of 1 or 2 7.7 mm machine guns. The Nardi FN.316 was developed at the Fratelli Nardi aviation plant as a development of the FN.305 model from the same manufacturer. The new machine, compared to its predecessor, had a changed structure of the rear part of the fuselage and had a different power unit. It was dedicated to the advanced training of future Italian Air Force fighter pilots (owned by Regia Aeronautica) and therefore also received on-board weapons. Two basic versions of this aircraft were created: the FN.316M (single-seat version) and the FN.316B (two-seat version, with a tandem cabin). Several machines of this type also served in the Luftwaffe after the signing of the ceasefire by Italy in 1943.
