BREDA 39S

The Breda Ba.39 is an Italian communication and tourist plane from the interwar period and World War II in the low wing configuration. The prototype flight took place in 1932. The drive was provided by a single Colombo S.63 engine with a power of up to 180 HP. The length of the aircraft was 7.58 meters with a wingspan of 10.48 meters. The maximum speed was up to 220 km / h. The machine did not have a permanent on-board armament. The Ba.39 aircraft was designed in essence as a development version of another machine from Societa Italiana Ernesto Breda - the Ba.33 model. Compared to its predecessor, the new machine was above all larger, but it used the same engine as the drive unit, which had a negative impact on its performance. Two main versions of this aircraft were developed in the course of production: the Breda Ba.39 (two-seater version) and the Breda Ba.39 S (three-seater version). The machine was used both by the Regia Aeronautica as a liaison machine, but also as a civil aircraft.
