The Fleet Finch was a Canadian fixed-landing biplane training and training aircraft from the Second World War. The drive was provided - in the Finch I version - by a single Kinner engine R5-2 with a power of 160 hp. The prototype flight took place in February 1939. Serial production continued in 1939-1941, ending with the production of about 600 examples of this aircraft. The machine did not have on-board weapons. The Finch was commissioned by the Canadian air force, by the Fleet Aircraft aviation company as a far-reaching modification of the Fleet 10 aircraft. The changes mainly concerned the reinforcement of the structure, the use of a different power unit and the addition of a closed fairing for the cabin. In the course of serial production, two main versions of this aircraft were created: Finch I and Finch II, which only differed from each other in the engine used. During World War II, the Fleet Finch became the Canadian Air Force's primary training aircraft. The users of these aircraft were also Portugal, Romania and Taiwan.
