The MiG Ye-50 (another designation: E-50) was a Soviet experimental Cold War fighter. A prototype flight took place in 1956, but the machine never entered mass production. The length of the aircraft was 13.62 meters with a wingspan of 8.11 meters. In turn, the maximum take-off weight was up to 8,500 kilograms. The Ye-50 machine was developed by the Mikojan and Guriewicz (MiG for short) plants for the needs of the Soviet Air Force, which since the beginning of the 1950s sought to acquire a new interceptor with a maximum speed of 2 Ma. To meet these needs, the MiG plants have developed several experimental machines, including the Ye-50, which received a fairly conventional aerodynamic solution, including the wings previously used on the MiG-19 fighter. One of the prototypes (Ye-50/2) in 1957 reached the speed of 2.33 Ma, but in 1957 another prototype crashed, which stopped the development of the Ye-50 machine.
