The Sud Aviation Vautour was a French Cold War fighter, bomber and attack aircraft. The flight of the prototype of the machine took place in 1952, and the machine entered the line in 1958. About 150 aircraft of this type were built in the course of serial production. The drive was provided by two motors SNECMA Atar turbojets . The aircraft reached a maximum speed of 1,100 km / h. The deck was armed with 4 30 mm DEFA cannons. Sud Aviation Vautour was commissioned by the French Air Force, which at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s reported a demand for a multi-role jet plane. The new machine was characterized by good performance at that time, good maneuverability and a very long operating range of up to 5400 km! Three main versions of the Vautour were produced in the course of serial production. The first was the Vautour IIA version, which was a single-seat assault version. Later, the Vautour IIB model appeared, which was a two-seater bomber version with a bomb bay in the fuselage. The third version was the Vautour IIN - it was a two-seat hunting version equipped with a radar and capable of operating in all weather conditions. Later the designation was changed to Vautour II-1N. This type of aircraft was withdrawn from the French air force by 1979. Apart from France, Israel was the only user of Sud Aviation Vautour aircraft.
