Bréguet 765 Sahara (another designation: Bréguet Br. 765 Sahara) was a French military airliner that entered service between 1956 and 1957. The drive was provided by 4 Pratt and Whitney R-2800-CB17 engines with a capacity of 2500 HP each. The Bréguet 765 Sahara was an evolutionary development of the Bréguet 761 and 763 machines. Compared to its predecessors, it was distinguished mainly by the use of slightly different engines and a slightly redesigned rear part of the fuselage, which allowed for faster unloading and loading. The machine was ordered by Armée de l'Air, the French air force, initially in the number of 30, but finally only 4 aircraft of this type were purchased, assigning them to the 64th Transport Aviation Squadron (French 64th Escadre de Transport). The planes were used primarily for the transport of personnel and supplies, and were indirectly involved in French nuclear tests in the Pacific region. They were decommissioned in 1972.
